Live Wedding Photo Wall: Show Guest Photos on a Screen in Real Time
Turn guest uploads into a live wedding slideshow on a TV or projector. Here is how the CamLove Photo Wall works, how to set it up, and how to keep guests uploading all night.

A live wedding photo wall is one of the simplest ways to turn guest photography into part of the reception itself. Instead of asking everyone to send photos tomorrow, you give guests one QR code and show the results on a large screen while the event is still happening. The immediate feedback changes the behaviour in the room: guests see that their photo actually appeared, understand the system instantly and are more likely to upload another one.
What is a live wedding photo wall?
It is a dedicated full-screen page designed for a TV, projector, vertical display or large tablet. It is separate from the normal guest gallery. Guests use the event QR code to upload; the venue screen uses its own wall link. That separation matters because a link visible on a projector should not expose organiser controls or turn the screen into an admin session.
CamLove keeps one large photo in the centre while smaller recent photos drift around the sides. When a new published upload arrives, the wall highlights it in the moving collage and then promotes the newest arrival to the centre stage. On a portrait display the layout adapts so the smaller photos move across the top and bottom instead of squeezing the centre image.
How fast do new guest photos appear?
The wall checks for new published photos frequently while the event is active. CamLove uses adaptive polling: it checks quickly when uploads are arriving, then gradually reduces the frequency when the event is quiet. As soon as a new photo arrives, it returns to the fast cycle. This avoids stacking requests on weak venue Wi-Fi while still making fresh uploads visible within seconds after they finish uploading and are published.
How to set up the wall before the reception
- 1Create the wedding gallery in CamLove and choose the event language.
- 2Download the guest QR code and place it where people can scan it from their seats.
- 3Open the separate Photo Wall link on the device connected to the TV or projector.
- 4Choose the display style: background, slide timing, portrait or landscape layout, and whether to show the event title, uploader names, QR code and CamLove branding.
- 5Upload two or three test photos from a phone and verify that they reach the screen.
- 6Put the display into full-screen mode and leave it running for the reception.
The wall URL can carry its display settings, which makes venue setup easier. You can prepare a clean cinema-style screen with only photos, or keep the QR code visible so someone who notices the screen can immediately join the gallery. The centre slide duration can also be tuned for the room: slower for a dinner setting, faster for a party.
Where should the QR code appear?
Do not rely on the screen alone. A QR code on a projector can be difficult to scan from a side angle, from the back of the room or while another person is standing in front of it. Use table cards, a welcome sign or bar cards as the primary access points, and treat the on-screen QR as a convenient extra.
| Placement | Best use | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Every table | Dinner and speeches | Guests can scan without leaving their seat |
| Welcome sign | Arrival | Explains the idea before the reception becomes busy |
| Bar or lounge | Party | High traffic and repeated visibility |
| On the photo wall | Secondary reminder | Connects the live result directly with the upload action |
How do you get guests to keep uploading?
The wall works best when it creates a feedback loop. Make the first uploads happen early, keep the QR visible, and ask the DJ or MC for one short announcement after dinner. Avoid repeated announcements. Once guests see their own photos on the screen, the wall itself becomes the reminder.
- Seed the gallery with a few photos before the room fills.
- Use one clear instruction: Scan, upload, watch it appear.
- Keep the QR code in several physical locations.
- Show the screen where people naturally look, but not where it distracts from speeches or the ceremony.
- If moderation is enabled, have someone approve photos promptly so the wall still feels live.
- Send the same gallery link once the next day for the photos guests took after leaving the venue.
Can a live photo wall show sponsor slides at corporate or branded events?
Yes. The CamLove wall can insert organiser-provided sponsor slides between guest photos on a configurable interval. This is useful for conferences, festivals, brand activations and company parties where the screen is part of the event inventory. Sponsor slides are optional; a normal wedding wall does not show them unless the organiser deliberately configures them.
What should never appear on the public screen?
Treat the display as public to everyone physically present. Do not use it for organiser controls, private notes or personal information that guests did not expect to see. If uploader names are not appropriate for the event, switch them off. If the event contains children or sensitive situations, decide in advance whether uploads should be reviewed before publication. The screen should make participation fun without reducing the privacy choices of the people being photographed.

FAQ
Do guests need an app to put photos on the live wall?+
No. Guests use the event QR code and upload through their phone browser. The Photo Wall is a separate screen for the TV or projector.
Does somebody need to operate the slideshow all evening?+
No. Once the wall is open, it rotates photos and checks for new published uploads automatically. You can still choose to moderate photos before they appear.
Can I use a projector instead of a TV?+
Yes. Any display that can show the wall in a browser, directly or through a connected computer or casting device, can be used. Test the connection and aspect ratio before the event.
Can the QR code stay visible on the photo wall?+
Yes. The organiser can keep the QR visible or hide it for a cleaner photo-only presentation. Physical QR cards are still recommended as the main guest access point.
Can I use the same wall for a vertical screen?+
Yes. CamLove supports portrait and landscape layouts, including an automatic orientation mode.

Live Wedding Photo Wall vs Photo Booth: Which Experience Fits Your Reception?
A photo booth is a dedicated place where guests go to create photos, often with a fixed camera, backdrop, props or prints. A live digital Photo Wall uses photos guests already take around the event and shows published images on a TV or projector. Choose a booth for a staged activity and physical-photo experience; choose a Photo Wall for broad guest participation and live shared storytelling. They can also work together.
